Movement, colour and texture are fundamental elements in my paintings. I work freely and let the paint and the creative process dictate the next brushstroke before deciding on the final composition. My work is always changing as I delight in experimentation.
I’m inspired by the works of many – and different – artists: Georgia O’Keefe, J.M.W. Turner and Helen Frankenthaler are just a few. To further stimulate my own creativity, I search out ways to expand my knowledge. I’ve studied at the Vancouver Island School of Art, the Coast Collective, the Metchosin Summer School of the Arts and I’ve enjoyed many workshops given by established local and internationally recognized artists.
My home studio on beautiful Vancouver Island provides me with the perfect setting for my creative process.
